Last Day
The last day I want to show the greatest food in the world------rice. It is basic but not so simple. I has to relay on rice everyday. No matter what I eat, I just fell satisfied after eating rice.
I think there are some thing like rice in our life, they used to be ignored, but truely important and necessary. It reminds me of my parents. Actually I used to make friends with new people and enjoy time with classmates and friends. However, my parents are always supporting me in the back. They show their concern silent and without excepting return. When I get tired and boring about the complicated world. They are always welcoming me to return home.
I am a little bit homesick now~

Matcha
Matcha sounds like a tradition Japanese food. However, it is also invented by Chinese 2000 years ago.And it is very popular in Tang and Song dynasty of more then 1000 history. However, it was replaced by drinking directly in Ming dynasty. Then it is transported to Japan and developed by Japanese. It is a kind of power made by tea leaves and now widely used in making cookies or cakes and such deserts.
The food which add Matcha has a great taste of tea and looks green. Traditional Matcha must be made by a special ancient stone and takes a lot of time. There is still no a modern machine can do better than the ancient way. So the true Matcha is really expensive and hard to see. The food sells in the market always just simple power with taste like tea, but can compare with the true Matcha.
Because Matcha is made by Chinese Tea, so it has not only a great taste, but also a lot of benefits for healthy. It can kill lots kind of bacterium and keep body fit. The temp always use Matcha to welcome important visitors.
Maybe I haven't meet the true Matcha, but I really like the cakes or cookies with Matcha taste, it is not too sweet, but with a good smell of tea~
Actually, I like tea very much, so I like Matcha very much. They are healthy and taste soft~
Dumplings
I would like to introduce some Chinese food, for example dumplings. Dumplings is a traditional Chinese food. Firstly, it just appeared in northern China, but nowadays,it is become very common in every family in China. And instant dumplings are sold in every supermarket.
However, there is still a little difference that northern China families are used to make dumplings themselves and eat dumplings for daily meal, but most southern China families usually just eat dumplings when new year is coming and eat instant dumplings. I never make dumplings myself so I am laughed by roommates who come from northern China.
There is a special day called "Dongzhi", it means the winter is coming, northern Chinese will eat dumplings this day because there is a interesting believe in ancient China that if you eat dumplings on this day, then your ears won't be frostbite in the whole winter. Even though nobody believe it now, but it comes to be a tradition.

Candy is kid's favorite, I remember the teachers in primary school always use candies as prizes for the best performance students. I know how powerful candy is when I play with my little cousin, because he will stop crying as soon as I give he one candy, and crying again as soon as I took the candy away, just like a toy controlled with a button. I enjoyed playing this game all the summer looking after him.

it is owned by by Dylan Lauren, daughter of Ralph Lauren, the famous designer.
Obviously,it will contains all the beautiful and top candies.
I hope I could see it one day.
When we are adults, we don't eat candies so much. But we will share it with children
just like spread the creative and joyful dreams.

Jelly
Jelly is one of my favorite snacks when I was a child. I love jelly contains tangerines inside and my favorite kind of jelly is called "Xizhilang". I usually eat up all the jelly one time, and my mother think it is too unhealthy. Then she made rules I can just have two jelly one day.
I have a best friend at primary school. Although I loved jelly very much and I just have two for one day, I would like to give her one every morning when we went to school together.And another reason was she will share dried Longan with me.
Jelly seems more popular in China than American, may be the reason Chinese don't eat pudding so much. The jelly has a various taste and shapes. There is a famous jelly called "Love of Lalique" in China. Because it usually have shape of heart and with love sentences for each one.
In the Valentine's Day in about three years ago, I pretend to be my father send jelly of "Love of Lalique" to my mother. I thought I cheat my mother successfully for she seems very happy. However, my mother told me one year later, she know everything at my first sentence...

Milk Tea
There are some popular small shops beside the street or school selling Milk Tea. It is a popular drink have a taste of mixed milk and tea among students. However, milk tea of this kind of shop usually just taste like milk and tea, but without real milk and tea.
There are many kinds of Milk Tea,and the famous three are Menggu Milk Tea, Sick Stocking Milk Tea from Taiwang, and Pearl Milk Tea from Hongkong. However, despiting the Menggu Milk Tea, I think the other two has not so much difference--Pearl Milk just add small round jelly taste thing in the Milk Tea.
Milk Tea is very common in Hongkong and Taiwang, also has affect in England. But this decades it is very popular in China Mainland,especially in young girls. Almost you can see this kind of shop in every street and every school. It is just like coffee for American. It spreads almost around the world except American.
My university also have a Milk Tea shop, it is special because it running by students and aim to offer part time jobs for students. It uses the real milk and tea leaves and fresh fruit in order to serve students better. I like it every much,and I think it is meaningful to run such shops.

The second normal food in American which surprise me is cookies. I am very happy to be able to make cookies by myself for it cannot be possible in China.
It is very convenient in America that you can buy the material already made then you can start in any step to make cookies you like. However, all the material contain lots of sugar, I don't like too sweet cookies. And I found all the cookies sold in Walmart are much more sweet then the cookies in China.
I planned to make cookies myself from mixing power in order to make cookies not too sweet. But I failed, because the butter and the milk I add is sweet. The most interesting part is to make shapes you like ! I bat every young girl will love this part. I make the mathematics signs "pai"and "sigma", and use chocolate to decorate it.
Now I just baking cookies from the last step-----put the already mixed cookies power in the stove. Because I am busy at exam and studying. And I bought some models to make cookies. That makes the process as easy as boiling water.

Interview
Eater: What are American daily meals like?
Hallelujah Truth: As a culture, I think that we citizens of the United States don't have similar daily meals. What a person eats depends on his/her idea of what is healthy, tasty, and convenient. My breakfast consists of cereal or eggs or fruit and yogurt. My lunch is typically leftover dinner from the night before. Dinner in our household tends to be vegetarian as we don't cook much meat in our home. We eat a lot of vegetables, beans, rice, and pasta. We try to eat a green salad at every night. Are we typical American eaters? I'm not sure.
Q: Do you have a experience to use food as a surprise?
Hallelujah: I am not a "foodie"--that is a person who enjoys the pleasure of food in multiple ways. I don't care much about how food is presented, what it tastes like, nor the expertise it takes to make it. I could eat the same food over and over again throughout the week, the month. I think you are a "foodie," so I know you will find my opinion about food unsatisfactory. Sorry. That said, it is nice to be taken out to a restaurant to a nice dinner, but I weep over the cost of paying for it. The value of good food just isn't worth it to me.
Q: What is the most special meal you have ever eat?
Hallelujah: In recent years, I have acquired a taste for Korean food. For my husband's birthday this past year, I took him out for Korean barbecue at an authentic Korean restaurant here in Atlanta. They cooked the beef and chicken at our table. The sauces and vegetables we had with this meal were sensational.
Q: What do you think about Chinese food? What is your favorite Chinese food?
Hallelujah: I love to eat Chinese food. My husband likes to cook it, so I am lucky. Probably what we eat in our home and call Chinese food, you might not! I love pot stickers. Back in the late 1980s, I had a Chinese roommate from Shanghai, and I learned a lot from her about eating Chinese meals.
Q: Does the meal always cooked by wife not husband ? How is your husband's cooking skill ?
Hallelujah: My husband enjoys cooking, and it is his pleasure to cook for me. He will read cookbooks and find new recipes. He will also do the grocery shopping. Aren't I lucky? I think I am a good cook, but I would rather spend my creativity and time on my art and not in preparing food.
Q: What do you usually eat to celebrate some good news?
Hallelujah: I'm drawing a blank on this question. We celebrate good news with a good beer or wine. In Atlanta, there are a lot of local craft beers, and they are delicious and fun to taste.
Q: What's your opinion about food is a kind of art?
Hallelujah: I totally believe food preparation and presentation fall into the realm of the arts; however, I am just plan bored by food. I know others, like you, really enjoy it and I admire that. But please don't ask me to get excited about it.
Q: Do you think different food is a sign of some special meaning? Do you have some examples?
Hallelujah: Wow, I know in your culture that you might eat long noodles at birthdays as symbols of longevity and you eat the pot stickers for good luck ( representing gold and silver coins). Here in the southeastern United States, some of us were raised eating black-eyed peas on New Year's day for good luck. If you don't eat them, you might not be as lucky as those people who do.

Then Italian develop it to be a kind of ice desert called Gelato, and American develop it to be the modern ice cream.
There are different kinds of ice cream, different taste or different making process. Some of them taste more solid, like the ice cream sold in Walmart. I don't like this kind of ice cream. I love the ice cream of Dairy Queen very much, I think it is really the expert to make ice cream.

chocolate
chocolate
Chocolate is one of the most popular candy in the world. Though I don't like chocolate so much, I have to admit without it the world would be less colorful.
Sometimes, chocolate has special meaning which everyone know. I would like to discuss more deeply about it, not just a simple word love. There is a movie about chocolate and the name of the movie is just "chocolate". I love it not only because the actor Johnny Depp is my favorite actor, but also for the reason it explain the meaning of chocolate deeply and exquisite.
The director believe food has special meaning, he thinks chocolate contains tempt miracle and fortuitous meeting. In the movie, it tells a story of a mystery woman comes to a Fance little town and open a chocolate shop which changes the lives and believes of the people in the town. Finally, it also cost disturbance in the small town....
I like this kind of story, a fairy tale for adult, it contains lots of connotative messages and giving a wonderful feeling. I hate love story before, because I think them are all the some, nothing creative. But this movie changed my mind. However,for me, chocolate means a food convenient to offer energy and I use to prepare if there are exams or I have to stay up.
